BINCTIN, Nicolas

Nicolas Binctin is a professor (agrégé) of law at the University of Poitiers where he teaches business law and intellectual property law. He directs the Master 2 course in intellectual property law and is co-director of the Master 2 course in innovation enhancement and research law. He also provides teaching in intellectual property law for Paris II and Paris XII universities. He is a visiting professor at several foreign universities and acts as an expert to business and law firms.After submitting a thesis in 2005 entitled Le capital intellectuel, published by Litec, he published in 2016 the fourth edition of a handbook on intellectual property law entitled Droit de la propriété intellectuelle (collection LGDJ) and in 2015 a book devoted to business strategy and intellectual property, entitled La stratégie d’entreprise et la propriété intellectuelle. He writes the annual column on industrial property law for JCP E and the column on intellectual property law for JCP G. His recent publications include: “The French Copyright Law Opens its Arms to the Free Software and Creative Commons”, License contracts, free software and creative commons, Springer Science+Business Media 2016, “French Perspectives on Trademark Transactions”, The Law and Practice of Trademark Transactions, Edward Elgar Publishing 2016.
