Authors’ human rights: lessons for common law jurisdictions

The September 2022 decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in Safarov v Azerbaijan in which the European Court of Human Rights held that the failure of domestic courts to protect an authors’ moral and material interests adds to the emerging jurisprudence on the human rights of authors. This article examines the significance of these rights for common law jurisdictions, such as Australia and New Zealand
